Saints Row 2: Only Two More Sequels Until It's Great!

The Skinny:
Set years after the original, the former 3rd Street Saints gang leader (you) wakes up from an explosion-induced coma only to find the town he ruled has now been gerrymandered by competing gangs. It's up to you to break out of jail and make your rivals famous.

The Good: Everything about the city of Stillwater is bigger and better. It's 50 percent larger, and there's a truckload of new activities you'll be doing to support your reemergence from prison. Unlike other games that make you unlock parts of the city, you can start your reign of terror anywhere, giving you a true sandbox style of play. SR2 retains a lot of the first game's charm, including fast food restaurants with names like Phuc Mi Phuc Yeu, and the ability to randomly create mayhem, scoring gang points in the process.

The Bad: Holy GTA IV-ripoffs, Batman! When you launch an ad campaign claiming that your game is the Ferrari to Rockstar's Chevy, you'd better deliver. While stronger in some areas than its record-breaking contemporary, at times SR2 looks downright awful, drawing some comparisons to Grand Theft Auto...on the PS2. The plot isn't much to get excited about either—gangbanging has made the rounds—but with this much over-the-top violence, you won't really be looking for narrative anyway.

The Naked Truth: Evidently, these murderous rampages, random vandalism, and other unwarranted acts against humanity are brought to you by Special Porn-ducer Tera Patrick.

Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? It's a solid rental, but so are these, so start saving up.

A Day at the CORR Races with Baja: Edge of Control

While everyone else was off enjoying the sights and sounds of Comic-Con, THQ invited me to the Chula Vista race track down in San Diego for an up close and personal look at their upcoming game Baja: Edge of Control. With no previous knowledge of racing and no experience of off-roading outside of taking the train home from work, I was obviously the perfect choice for the job.

In case you have no idea what CORR stands for, here's a simple formula I've devised:
