MOVIES

User Pick: Transformers
This one had all the action and amazing effects we've come to expect from Michael Bay. Now if only we could convince him to stop timing his movies with an advent calendar. Read our review!

1. 300
We never thought a movie shot in front of a green screen could be so entertaining. Or make us feel worse about our bodies. Read our review!

2. The Bourne Ultimatum
Jason Bourne never lets us down. Ultimatum was the perfect action-packed ending to perhaps the most solid trilogy ever. Read our review!

3. Superbad
Thankfully, Judd Apatow made up for his superlong chick flick Knocked Up by teaming again with Seth Rogen to produce the year's funniest movie. Whether we were laughing at McLovin's McNerdiness or endlessly begging our lady friends for "blow j's," this one hit the mark. Read our review!

4. Hot Fuzz
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, otherwise known as the guys that made Shaun of the Dead, prove once again that all British comedy isn't just bad teeth and men in dresses. Read our review!

5. 3:10 to Yuma
Western? Check. Russell Crowe and Christian Bale? Check. This movie was born to be awesome. Read our review!

6. The Simpsons
After years of waiting for Hollywood to welcome our favorite Springfield residents to the big screen, the day finally came last summer. Luckily, it was worth the wait. Read our review!

7. American Gangster
When Denzel's bad, he is oh so good. And as Harlem heroin kingpin Frank Lucas, he was really, really bad. Read our review!

8. Live Free or Die Hard
John McClane returned for another explosion-filled chapter of the Die Hard series. Our only complaint was the nerdy "I'm a Mac" guy, though we guess he doubled as an expert on crashes. Read our review!

9. The King of Kong
We're video game junkies, so we appreciated this awesome doc on two pals and their quest to conquer Donkey Kong. We even paid our admission with a roll of quarters. Read our review!

10. No Country for Old Men
Reading's a bore, so we're glad the Coen Brothers turned this Cormac McCarthy novel into one of the year's most unsuspectingly exciting movies. Truth be told, we were sold the moment we found out the killer slays people with an air gun. Read our review!
