With the overwhelming box office success of Casino Royale, it was only a matter of time before the James Bond license made its way to video game land once more. But making a Bond game rise up from its mostly mediocre history—save Goldeneye, Everything or Nothing, and NightFire—is no easy task, so Activision and Treyarch have enlisted the services of the Call of Duty 4 engine.

In a preview posted on IGN.com, the developers spill on some other interesting game play details, including a third-person cover system mirroring Rainbow Six Vegas'. What's more:

"The movie will pick up about an hour after the end of Casino Royale, bucking the trend of Bond movies standing alone. If you haven't seen Casino Royale, all hope is not lost. That's because this game will tell the story of both films at a roughly 50/50 split. There's even an extra scene that was removed from the final release of Casino Royale that will be included in the game."

Sounds like we're not going to be subjected to another half-baked movie tie-in game. Then again, there are still four months left to go until the movie and game are released.

Hit the jump for the rest of the new game screens!
