No matter what Sony wants to call 2008, it will probably be called "the year the PSN caught up to Xbox Live." Further adding to the storyline is the unveiling of the new portable ID card, allowing PS2, PS3, and PlayStation.com users to link their accounts into one global username. (XBox 360 users call them gamertags, but let's not get too hung up with semantics here.) Anyway, behold:
The empty space underneath the username is where your profile information goes (up to 21 characters). Mine, obviously, is blank. Here's to hoping for PS3 Trophies to make an appearance somewhere on the ID in the future and/or the ability to customize the appearance.
If you haven't linked up your profiles yet, get going already: http://www.us.playstation.com/MyAccount |

The PlayStation 3 came into this world as a sort of laughingstock, afflicted with both the then unpopular Blu-ray infrastructure and the then unneeded high-definition capablities. Two years later, Blu-ray has won the media war with HD-DVD and more and more consumers are snatching up HDTVs. Sony spent much of their E3 presentation giving a sort of polite, "I told you so" and boasting how it's system is futureproof. With games like Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet, a new video download service, and a growing install base, it's hard to argue against them. With that said, the highlights:
DO WANT

GOD OF WAR III ANNOUNCEMENT We all knew it was coming, with rumors and speculation flying all over the Internet for the past 4 months. Sony confirmed the arrival of Kratos on the PlayStation 3 with a teaser trailer that didn't really show much. Nevertheless, expect the godkiller to arrive sometime between next summer and Christmas. |

12. Tekken: Dark Resurrection (PSP) The best portable fighting game ever makes for quick, satisfying matches. And it makes for quick, satisfying dumps. Who knew that kicking a big panda around for 30 seconds could be more effective than a bushel of cabbage and a handful of Crap-Be-Gone pills? Recommended Dose: Six or seven matches will be more than enough to get your Hershey's Kisses queued up and ready for departure.
