Thom Browne Round-Frame Acetate Sunglasses

For when you’re torn between the books and The Kooks.

Ernest Hemingway was a man world-renowned for his spare but affecting prose, as well as his rigidly-kept schedule of international carousing. Like Ernie, these Thom Browne sunglasses are equal parts literature and party.  The roundness of the frames and the delicacy of the arms (ornamented with Browne’s signature red-white-and-blue stripes) are ripped right from the library, while the matte-acetate finish and dark, dark, lead-singer lenses are pure rock and roll.

Like everything from Thom Browne, these shades are meticulously crafted from the best materials. Here, that means titanium for the slender arms and bridge, and matte-grey acetate for the frames. The lenses have an anti-reflective coating and a dark tint to save you from the sun (or from recognition). The grooved nose pads grip mightily, and will presumably wick away any nose sweat, should you be so afflicted. Everything is assembled by hand in Tokyo. [$675; mrporter.com]
