It's like a boozy lunar eclipse!
Contrary to popular belief, the moon is not made of cheese. It's made of citrus fruit. Or so the people at Corona have led us to believe. And they intend to prove it this weekend, when the moon literally becomes a slice of lime in a bottle of Corona on a giant billboard in NYC.
After consulting with astronomers and astrophysicists, the folks at Corona have put together a strategically created and placed billboard that will align with a crescent moon to make it appear as thought it's a lime resting in the billboard's Corona bottle. They're calling it "Luna Corona," and if you're in NYC, you're invited to the viewing this Saturday night, June 15, on the corner of 9th Ave. & 15th St. There will be two organized viewings — at 8:15pm and 8:45pm — but the moon'll be there all night, so if you're in the area, just look up.
Those not living in NYC can watch from the comfort of their own computer. Here's the video of last month's Luna Corona, which proves once and for all that astrophysicists have the most fun jobs ever.
