Big Ups To The Corvette & Silverado, North American Car & Truck Of The Year

It’s a big day for Chevrolet. (Check it out, we’re poets!)

We’re happy, but we’re really not surprised. Earlier this morning at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the all-new Corvette Stingray and totally redesigned Chevy Silverado were respectively named the North American Car and Truck of the Year. Why aren’t we surprised?

Let’s start with the ‘Vette. As the seventh generation of what is, without question, the most iconic American sports car (sorry, Mustang!) in history, the new Stingray is the fastest standard model ever, with 455 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque from a 6-liter V8. It’s also the most refined and (arguably) the best-looking version yet. As for the Silverado – besides being quite handsome in its own right – it’s a power-lover’s dream as well, with an available 5.3-liter V8 that generates 355 horsepower for easy towing and hauling. It also offers the best fuel economy of any V8 pickup in the world. This is the first time Chevy has won both awards in the same year, so raise a glass (or a piston) to the current automotive king of North America!
