ORIGIN: Seattle, 1943
Eddie Bauer was a mild-mannered sporting goods store owner in Seattle. One winter he went fishing, caught hypothermia, and decided there had to be a better way to stay warm. The result? The first quilted down-stuffed jacket was made in 1936. Eddie’s goose garments became the down flight suits for WWll pilots. He also made the first quilted-down waistcoat (puffy vest) in 1943. Then came Marty McFly, and the rest is history!
