What better way to celebrate the season of flowers and bunnies than with vampires?
Here's your first look at the crazy-cool cover for Vertigo's new American Vampire: Lord of Nightmares miniseries. Because vampires on TV and in movies continue to suck (hahahaha!), the only real place to get decent vampire lore is in comic-book form. Creator and writer Scott Snyder is adding more fun and frights to his American Vampire mythology in a new five-issue miniseries starting in June.
Written by Snyder with art by Dustin Nguyen, American Vampire: Lord of Nightmares focuses on the vamp hunting agency known as The Vassals of the Morning Star. Agent Felicia Book takes center stage as she’s asked to track that most dangerous vamp of them all. Robo-Dracula!!!
Just kidding. Robo-Dracula exists only in our dreams and the margins of our 6th grade notebooks…and the movie pitch we sent to the mayor of Hollywood.
The first issue of the miniseries drops June 13th.
“These miniseries are the place where we get to reveal the biggest secrets about the mythology, history, and the evolution of our vampires,” said Snyder. “It’s a world where we get to tell [the character] stories in a way where we explore their dreams and their demons and pit them against the biggest, scariest vampires you’ll ever see, with tons of blockbuster action.”
