ABOUT THE DIGITAL ISSUE
 
Q:  What's the difference between the iPad edition and the Maxim printed edition?
 
A:  Our iPad edition, Maxim+, lets you access Maxim Magazine wherever and whenever you want.  Everything you love about the paper issue is available on your iPad, redesigned for easy reading.  But we also enhance stories with additional photo galleries, exclusive videos, and interactive features you can't get in the paper magazine.
 
Q:  How do I get around the digital issue?
 
A:  You can explore your copy of Maxim page by page or by skipping around. Swipe across with one finger to turn one story at a time, or swipe with two fingers to quickly jump among sections. You can also just press and hold your finger on the screen or tap the upper right corner to bring up the contents list and the thumbnail preview at the bottom. From here you can simply tap to jump among sections. And you can bookmark a page by tapping the upper right corner of a page, and it will appear in the Bookmarks panel.
 
Q:  What's the difference between Maxim+ and the other digital editions of Maxim sold by Zinio, NOOK, and Kindle?
 
A:  Maxim+ is built specifically for the iPad on the Mag+ platform.  The issue is designed to bring the magazine features to life; we can add additional pictures and video content to the digital version that we cannot include in print.
The Zinio, NOOK, and Kindle versions of the magazine are PDF replicas of the print pages without any additional interactive features. 
 
 
PURCHASING ISSUES AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
 
Q:  I just purchased a subscription through the Maxim website. How do I begin receiving my issues?
 
A:  If you have not yet downloaded the Maxim+ app, please do so. This is a free app available in the iTunes store. Do not purchase anything else from within the app, as your subscription is already paid for. The first time you open the app after downloading, look for the "My Account" tab on the bottom row navigation bar, then: 
 
1. Press "Log In",
2. Enter the e-mail address and password you set up when you ordered your subscription and hit " Log In"
3. Close the Sign-In window and press "Library" to see the issues you are currently entitled to receive. This will be the current issue when you first subscribe, then each subsequent issue on your subscription as it is published.
4. Press the box with the issue you wish to read.
 
Q:  If I'm a Maxim print subscriber already, can I transfer my subscription to the iPad?
 
A:  Yes, you can transfer your subscription from print to digital.  You can contact us to change your subscription by emailing us at maxim@emailcustomerservice.com.  Or you can call us at 386-447-6312 and speak with a customer service representative. 
 
Q:  I don't see the issues I've already purchased or downloaded.
 
A:  If the issues you've purchased are not listed in your Library, check to make sure you're using the same iTunes account you originally purchased the issues with. If so, hit the "Missing Issues?" button in the upper left corner of the Library tab.  This should restore permissions to all issues you're entitled to. If that doesn't solve it, please contact us at maxim@emailcustomerservice.com.   
 
Q:  How can I buy single copy issues?
 
A:  Press the "Store" button on the bottom row navigation bar. This will access the in-app store, where you can subscribe to the magazine and buy single issues. Tap the price, confirm your purchase, and the issue will appear in your library. There you can tap the button to download it. 
 
Q:  How do I access new issues on my subscription?
 
A:  If you purchase a subscription through Maxim+, and are using the Apple iOS5 (or higher) operating system, new issues will download automatically in the Apple Newsstand folder. You will be notified when a new issue is available. If you are on the older Apple iOS4 operating system, you will still get a notification from Maxim about the new issue, but you will have to download it manually once it is available. 
 
Q:  I just bought a digital subscription; what issues will I be entitled to?
 
A:  You will have immediate access to the current issue and all new issues moving forward, until your subscription ends. 
 
Q:  I just bought a digital subscription; will I have to renew it once it runs out?
 
A:  You will continue to receive Maxim Magazine without interruption, thanks to our Automatic Renewal program.  Your credit card will automatically be charged for another subscription period at the end of your subscription, for the current subscription price.  You can, however, turn off auto-renewal by going to your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.
 
Q:  I purchased the iPad edition only; why do I need to enter my mailing address?
 
A:  You need to enter your mailing address and all requested contact information as part of our subscription verification process.
 
Q:  As a subscriber to the magazine, do I get free access to Maxim’s iPad edition?
 
A:  At this time we do not offer free access to the iPad edition if you are a print subscriber.  You can purchase an additional digital subscription or single issues in the iTunes store or on the Maxim website. 
 
Q:  Can I transfer my subscription to another device?
 
A:  You may access your purchased issues or subscription on another iPad running the Maxim+ app if you're signed in with the same iTunes account. Just download the app, make sure you are signed into the same iTunes account you originally purchased the subscription with, and hit the "Missing Issues" button. At this time, you may not access your iTunes-purchased subscription on any other device or platform.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT
 
Q:  My issue is stuck at the "Processing" stage — what do I do?
 
A:  This happens occasionally when the iPad interrupts the processing of the issue. Typically restarting the app will resolve the issue. If not, you can always delete and re-install the app. You will never have to pay again for something you've already purchased, as long as you're on the same account. On reinstall, you'll see a box asking if you wish to restore all purchases—press "Yes".  If you miss that box, just tap "Missing Issues" in the Library list to get back access to all previously purchased issues and subscriptions.
 
Q:  I can’t download one or more issues.  I get an error when downloading a particular issue.
 
A:  Move to a location with a good Wi-Fi connection.  Make sure you have enough space on your device.  If the app alerts you that there is an update available for the issue, please download the update.  If the problem persists, contact us at maxim@emailcustomerservice.com
 
Q:  How do I delete an issue?
 
A:  In your Library list, you'll see a button to the right of each issue that says Archive. Tap this button, and you will delete the issue from active storage on your device. At any time, You can always re-download those issues again later at no charge.
 
Q:  My App keeps "crashing".
 
A:  Unfortunately, some iPad users have experienced problems with the app crashing. If this happens, you should be able to fix it by following these steps: 
 
1. Close all running apps (double-click the Home button, press and hold on the app icons in the bottom list until they start "shaking", then tap the "X" on each to close the app).
2. Shut down the iPad. (Hold the Power key then slide the red bar when prompted).
3. Turn the iPad on again. The App should now work fine.
4. If it still does not work, you can try re-installing the Maxim+ app.
