Every week, we send someone stumbling into the dark Maxim archives to see what we were up to way back when. This week we're going back to November of 2002 when Rebecca Romijn was still a Stamos, we were sucking down Tequila Squirts, and we settled for a TV dinner on Thanksgiving.
Cover Girl: Rebecca Romijn
Where You've Seen Her: This gorgeous blonde first grabbed our attention in the late '90s when she took over our June 1998 issue. Working as a supermodel for Victoria's Secret and wearing next to nothing in her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition spreads, Rebecca quickly became a favorite with men everywhere (especially John Stamos). But it was in 2000 that she really struck gold with her role as Mystique in the X-Men series. Needless to say, blue body paint looks really good on her.
Where She Is Now: Since then, Rebecca's dropped Uncle Jesse - and the "Stamos" in her name - and is remarried to actor Jerry O'Connell. She is still in the limelight, appearing on shows like NTSF:SD:SUV and King & Maxwell, and we're looking forward to her cameo in the 2014 film Larry Gaye: Renegade Male Flight Attendant. Until then, we'll be watching The Hand Bra by Rebecca Romijn on loop. Now there's an infomercial we can get behind.
Our favorite holiday has finally arrived: Thanksgiving. An entire day dedicated to a gluttonous marathon of shoveling food and booze into our pie holes; what could possibly go wrong? Well, according to this 2002 article, a lot. Between low-fat turkey bologna and Hungry-Man's turkey breast TV dinner, we're ashamed that we ever endorsed the consumption of such dog shit. Fortunately, with time comes wisdom, and none of these gross options will be found on our table this year. And that's something to be thankful for.
It's no secret that we love our booze. Whether it's on fire, bacon-flavored, or almost gone, we have no shame in making sure every last drop is consumed. But "Tequila Squirts" sounds more like what happens after we eat shitty Mexican food than a beverage we would ever want to drink. But then we read the fine print: "This golden child of Mexico is what you drink when you want to get annihilated. Trade in your evil-smelling shots for our sweet squirts, and let the party begin." On second thought, we'll take two.
