Christian Bale Will Star in Michael Mann’s Ferrari Biopic

Get ready to meet the man behind the cars. 

Gentleman, start your engines. (Sorry.) 

Michael Mann will direct Christian Bale in a film about Italian auto mogul Enzo Ferrarri,  which Paramount has secured, according to a Deadline report.

The project, based on the biography Enzo Ferrari, The Man, the Cars, the Race, had long been in the works with Mann attached, but without a star or U.S. studio. 

The movie be set in 1957, when Ferrari faced a “brutal challenge to his survival.” Production will begin in Italy next summer. “Several” actresses are in reportedly in talks to co-star — we’ll likely find out who in the very near future.
