The New Ex Machina Trailer Is Anti-Robot Propaganda

Building your own robot might sound good in theory, but haven’t AI movies taught us that it never ends well?

The first US trailer for the creepy British AI thriller Ex Machina is here with an age-old tale: Man builds beautiful female robot. Man introduces robot to another man. Robot drives a wedge between them, then becomes too smart and (possibly?) turns on them. We’ll see how Oscar Isaac, his questionable facial hair, Domhnall Gleeson, and Alicia Vikander all fare on April 10th. But, come to think of it, maybe now’s the time to abandon your dream of building a personal female robot companion.
