The new school of NBA young’uns love dunkin’ and muggin’.

Yesterday, Panini (the best sports collectible company that is also a delicious hot sandwich) held its yearly rookie photo shoot, giving the class a chance to talk to press, dunk on some children, and generally get goofy before the season starts, all while shooting photos for their rookie card.

Giannis Antetokounmpo took on a fierce competitor head on. I won’t tell you who was the one showing no mercy, but it certainly wasn’t the Greek guy.

The Celts’ Kelly Olynyk and the Pacers’ Solomon Hill work on their basketball IQ. Work is hard.

The Knicks’ new acquisition felt right at home at his new training facility. So comfortable, in fact, that he lost the handle on the ball for a second.

Cody Zeller, one-half of our draft day diary, reflected on the draft while watching his Indiana teammate Victor Oladipo destroy the rim. “I was hoping for Charlotte, it’s a great city and a great organization. It seems like forever ago at this point.”

Later, Oladipo and Zeller posterized whoever they could and generally made everyone watch their backs for the rest of the day.

C.J. McCollum (who was getting the business from Ricky Ledo in a big way) had the same feeling about the draft. “It feels like an eternity ago. It’s been a whirlwind. Summer League was a great experience; I definitely enjoyed it and relished the opportunity.”

Going later than expected in the draft seems to be the last thing on Nerlens Noel’s mind, as his Sixers ended up with two of the first 11 players drafted. Now he just has to watch out for this lady in the paint.
