Big Upset – Giants over Falcons


The Giants continue to be consistently inconsistent, dropping a game to the Redskins one week and then following it up with a walloping of the Saints. The Giants’ Facebook page does not exactly inspire confidencewith this status update: “Call 201.939.4513 to tell your thoughts on how the Giants should defend the high powered Falcons Offense…” What’s that number, Perry Fewell’s cell? The Falcons seemed to have been figured out by everyone in the league, what’s with the crowd-sourcing?

Big Performance – Miles Austin


This former Kardashian arm candy has had a noticeably quiet season. He’s yet to record 10 catches in a game, broke 100 yards only twice and found the end zone a paltry five times this season. With Dez Bryant – the Garfield to Austin’s Heathcliff – injured (even though he is trying to tough it out), Miles might finally be able to hit the jackpot.

Big Flop – Matt Forte


Forte has put together a quietly productive year yards-wise, but has been kept out of the end zone, crossing the plane only four times on the season. How many times has he scored against the Packers in his entire career, you ask? GOOSE EGG. On top of that, bad man Clay Matthews returns to his skull-crushing job this week.

Patriots vs. 49ers –Big Game Preview?


The Sunday night game in New England could very well be replayed in NOLA this year. The Patriots’ drubbing of Houston on Monday made them look infallible, even in a post-Gronk age. San Francisco is a little more of a chameleon, they’re in the midst of a QB controversy and dropping a game to the Rams two weeks back, but their defense can hang with any team.

Big Stinker – Bengals at Eagles


The Bengals are desperately clinging to their playoff chances (and hoping the Steelers continue to slide) while the Eagles are desperately clinging to…nothing, we guess. Their season is all over but the cryin’, and there’ll be plenty of that in Philly this offseason.
