The NFL Big Five: Wildcard Week!

You’re favorite team is probably out, but there is plenty left to see this season.

The new NFL week is here and with it comes chaos. Fortunately,Maximis here to help you navigate these uncharted waters with five predictions that will undoubtedly (or just maybe) come true.

Big Upset – Cincinnati Bengals over Houston Texans

The Colts had a shot to be the Big Upset against the Ravens until Ray Lewis announced his retirement. His terrifying screaming-at-his-own-team routine is going to be elevated to untold levels. He might even tackle Joe Flacco. I would rather ride the Bengals, who won seven of their last eight. Andy Dalton has very quietly put up a helluva sophomore season and also the term “ride the Bengals” makes us think of riding a tiger, which would be AWESOME.

Big Flop – Christian Ponder, Minnesota Vikings

Hope you enjoyed last week, Viking fans; it all comes crashing down now. Minny has to bring their game to Lambeau this week and the Packers are playing for a lot more than a bye this time. AD can get it done as long as Ponder can make some plays to keep the pressure off. Sorry, AD.

Big Performance – Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

On the other side of this divisional equation, Aaron Rodgers does not much care for losing; especially when you cost him a week’s rest. Even with a depleted receiving corps, Rodgers should be able to pick apart the Vikings secondary. On top of that, the Packers haven’t dropped two games in a row since 2010. That’s TWO FULL YEARS before the Mayan apocalypse totally happened.

Big Storyline – Which rookie folds?

The Rookie of the Year race is as tight as these playoff matchups, with all three tenderfoot QBs trying to make their case. RGIII seems to have the momentum, despite the fact that Andrew Luck threw for more yards than any newcomer ever, and Russell Wilson tied Peyton’s first-year throwing touchdown record. Which one (if any) will be left standing over the next month?

Big Stinker – NOTHING
