A little over a decade ago, creating a movie based on an amusement park ride seemed gimmicky at best. Then the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise came along and - over $3 billion later - it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea after all. Disney is apparently looking to take advantage of that same theme park movie magic in Tomorrowland, the upcoming film that’s speculated to be based on the ride of the same name.

The project's been notoriously mysterious from the start, but the first full-length trailer gave us a better idea of what to expect from the next Disney behemoth. The film stars Britt Roberston as a teen who teams up with a disenchanted George Clooney to travel through time and space. Hugh Laurie also appears as a presumably evil leader of Tomorrowland. The star power and sleek futuristic details make for a Disney film that we might just sit through. You know, in the interest of retaining our childlike wonder and all.
