2010 Maxim Food Awards: Test Kitchen

Maxim knows there comes a time when every man must learn to fend for himself. So instead of sending you on the road to fill your belly, this year’s food awards are sending you into the kitchen, with help from the country’s best chefs. Try not to set anything on fire.


After trying the scrumptious recipes from the 2010 Maxim Food Awards, we decided it was time for a little culinary experimentation of our own.

DISH: PENNE ALLA VODKA AND RED BULL
Preparation: The Italian-American pasta classic with one part Red Bull to four parts vodka.
Tasters said: “We have actually created the recipe for vomit.”

DISH: WHISKEY SPOTTED DICK
Preparation: A canned version of the traditional English pudding, nuked and doused in Bushmills.
Tasters said: “Tasted like Christmas. Mom and Dad used to pour whiskey on everything.”

DISH: BIG MAC ’N’ CHEESE
Preparation: Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions—and a pound of cheddar-smothered elbow macaroni—on a sesame seed bun.
Tasters said: “A savory, rib-sticking meat-and-starch explosion. The hands-down winner.”
