Keith Fenimore takes a lightning look at what’s been trending this week in social media. [Nov 3 – Nov 9]
Director Patrick Boivin has masterfully crafted a fight video featuring a cute toddler in Kill Bill regalia serving a can-of-whoop-ass to a stuffed doll Dragon.
Despite being about nine years late on the upswing, this video is pretty cool. I can honestly say that I haven’t seen someone with a full diaper kick that much butt since Regis retired.
Mashable has assembled the top internet hoaxes that many people fell victim to this year. The hoaxes included Morgan Freeman dying, Facebook shutting down and naked photos of Justin Bieber being leaked.
I’ll spare you and cut these probable 2013 hoaxes off at the pass: Chick-Fil-A caters Anderson Cooper’s July 4th party; Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are happily married; Jay Leno’s ratings are through the roof; Obama and Romney enjoy a joint family vacation in Hawaii; and my fourteen year old cousin no longer tweets.
As fall out from Gov. Romney’s pledge to cut off funding to PBS if elected, a man braved the long voting lines on Election Day at a polling station in Texas wearing a Big Bird costume. The photo was plastered across social media.
I’m just thankful that Gov. Romney didn’t say he would cut funding to the porn industry. Could you imagine the costumes people waiting in line to vote would have worn? When people complained that a dickhead cut ahead of them in line, they’d mean it literally.
President Barack Obama took to Twitter and celebrated with a victory tweet saying, “Four more years,” along with a photo of the President and the First Lady in a loving embrace. The tweet quickly became the most retweeted in the history of twitter.
I hear a close second to Obama’s victory tweet was one from Governor Romney, who supposedly tweeted -- I may have not won the election, but in a way I’m still a winner. Yeah, I never have to step foot in West Virginia again in my life! God Bless America!
Pinterest has introduced a new feature called “secret boards.” The idea being that you can keep things like gift ideas private so just you, and those you deem worthy, can see what you’re pinning.
I was able to hack some of these ’secret boards,’ and here’s what you’re missing: A picture of a meatloaf in the shape of a smiley face; a waterfall with an affirmation written over it; and a kitten snuggling with a Great Dane. Do you believe it, a tiny kitten and a big Great Dane… they’re not supposed to get along lol rofl lmao roflcopter!!! Ok, now you may carry on with your life.
@imkeithfenimore and that's, as I see it, what's trending in social media this week! And remember, if you’re on the East Coast, your life may be back to normal after Hurricane Sandy, but for a lot of people it’s not, and will never be. If you can swing it, donate what you can, be it time or money!
