The NBA’s 1 Billion-Hit Mash Up, And 4 Other Things You Might Have Missed

Keith Fenimore takes his shots at what’s been trending this week in social media. [Dec 8 – Dec 14]

1
The White House is pushing more toward transparency by diving deeper into the social media pool, officially joining Pinterest and posting intimate photos of Presidential goings-on both in and out of the White House.
There really is no better way to push an agenda and get people talking than through photos. Just ask the IRS and the guy who took the mug shot of the tax evading Stephen Baldwin.

2
Victoria’s Secret is sharing a behind-the-scenes blooper reel from the making of a new holiday video, featuring a bevy of their most sexy bra-and-panty clad supermodels trying to sing Christmas songs.
I have to be honest, I didn’t even realize they were singing until half-way through the 127th time I saw it.

3
Twitter just announced a new photo filter feature that will allow you to add cool effects and enhance the look of your photos while never having to break free from your feed.
After hearing this news, Instagram simply tweeted: “We’re FUCKED!”

4
Someone decided it would be funny to Tweet present day, social media infused, plotlines about Seinfeld, one of the most revered sitcoms of all time.
There should be a sanctity force field that protects against any attempts to mess with Seinfeld.  It’s like giving someone whose cat has just died the below poster - you just don’t do it!

5
The NBA is celebrating after surpassing 1 billion views on its YouTube channel. What better way to say thank you to the fans, than creating a mash-up video highlighting their best viral video moments of all time?
Not to be left out, the United States Soccer Federation is starting to plan for the fanfare around reaching their 1 billionth YouTube hit, a milestone they hope to reach in the year 3005.
