After they lock all of the gizmos up in the Las Vegas Convention Center, the huddled masses make for all the ridiculous parties that happen here as part of CES. Since my day started at 4 A.M. eastern time, I decided I was only going to hit up two parties: Intel at the Palms' nightclub Rain and the Microsoft party at Caesars Palace's Pure. Apparently the Intel party list was pretty exclusive, since several people I know couldn't get in, and the club wasn't even close to half capacity. Those of us that were fortunate enough to get past the velvet ropes were treated to a Smash Mouth concert. Yeah, the Smash Mouth that sang the Shrek song. The Microsoft party was equally difficult to get into, but not worth sticking around unless you like loud techno music and talking to suits. I have a video of Smash Mouth playing their opening song, but it's going to have to be posted in the morning since just about every piece of electronics I have is running out of battery power and Chipotle is going to close in 15 minutes. See you in the A.M. for round 2.
