Wii
Price: $49.99
The Skinny: Pick up your waggle stick and control a blob of water as you make ROY G. BIV your polychromatic slave.
The Good: There hasn't been a Wii-exclusive game worth owning since forever, but those who have held out will find solace in one of THQ's quirkiest efforts. The basic premise is that there's an evil corporation, INKT, that has taken all of the color out of the world and it's up to your H20 friend to return the funk back to town. The motion controls fit the Wii perfectly, and the musical scorewhich changes rhythm as your character picks up more colorsis impressive. Overall, you'll have a lot of fun just fooling around and making weird drawings. See if you can guess how long your buddies play before someone draws a penis!
The Bad: You'll find yourself going back and redoing many of the same challenges. That threatens to get boring fast.
Did You Know? The concept of de Blob originated from eight students at the Utrecht School of the Arts. The city of Utrecht has since adopted the character of de Blob to be its mascot.
Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? Buy it. It's like your kindergarten finger painting class, with less crying and shunning!
Wanna win a custom-skinned de Blob Nintendo Wii? Go to the de Blob site and enter their "Widget Contest." The contest ends October 24, 2008.
