Solitaire is for chumps with company time to kill. The real card sharks play the poker in Dead Man’s Hand, with the stakes being bonus ammo before each level in this Old West, first-person shooter. Playing as gunslinger El Tejon, you seek vengeance on the backstabbing varmints who filled you with lead and left you for dead. Chase ’em through mine shafts, trains, riverboats, or on horseback, and plug ’em with a trusty six-shooter, shotgun, or Gatling gun—not to mention the whiskey bomb and dynamite for a little incendiary action. Innovative kills and trick shots earn you Legend points toward special shooting skills, and when you tire of the dumb-ass AI enemies in single player, take your posse online for a passel of multiplayer games. The concept and play consistently deal a royal flush, just ignore the choppy visuals, which can irritate like a pesky infection picked up at Miss Kitty’s Cat House.
