Evil Dead: Fistful of Boomstick

Mysteriously priced at 20 bucks, we had hopes that this gory beat-’em-up would provide a cheap date of zombie bludgeoning with Bruce Campbell. Instead, we wound up roaming around aimlessly like the undead we’re supposed to be reterminating. Seriously, you’d be hard-pressed to find a game with a more craptastic combination of graphics and gunplay. If you’re not driven to utter insanity by “puzzles” that make you run back and forth like Mariah Carey’s personal assistant, the zombies’ unavoidable cheap hits will send you over the edge. It just isn’t worth this kind of torture (even for die-hard Dead fans) to hear Campbell utter, “Hail to the king!”
