They may have told you that there would be no new peripheral add-on with the new game, but alas, they have fooled ye. Packed into every $189.99 bundle—what, you thought you were getting a discount because it's portable?—is a Rock Band-branded finger drum and a special plastic hardcover, a perfect accessory for those violent faux finger drummers. We slapped the unit onto the PSP and let 'er rip:
Gameplay mechanics were as simple as pressing the left bumper to switch to the drums, successfully touching the correct note, and then switching back to the console's buttons to take up the guitar once again. We found it much easier by just setting up a multiplayer game where multiple people could play at once, though our editor-in-chief gave strange looks at the four people crowding around the PSP thumbing the notes. Also, Harmonix is still finalizing a track list, so the only song we got to jam to was "Bing Bang" by Kazakhstan's popular music singer Korki Buchek.
