The most beautiful version of the beautiful game.

The Pitch: The twentieth iteration of the most popular sports franchise on the planet has arrived; smarter, faster and with a few surprises.

What It Really Is: A big upgrade over 12, FIFA 13 improves gameplay in all forms without alienating a devoted fanbase. New ball and player physics ground this year’s edition in reality while robbing glitch bitches of last year’s loopholes.  An entirely new mode for skill challenges also debuts this year, giving gamers an awesome way to kill time in between matches and hone problematic aspects of their game.Possibly the most important improvement we’ve noticed in FIFA 13 is the revamping of teammate AI, who now make off-the-ball runs that make sense, thinking two steps ahead and leading to more scoring opportunities than ever before. This is hands down one of the biggest advances we’ve seen from one year to the next in any sports game on the current generation of consoles, and represents the best thing to ever come out of Canada, second only to poutine...because that shit is DEEEEElicious. Ready-Made Press Blurb: “We love FIFA so much that we almost joined a Fantasy Soccer league. Almost.”

Fun Fact: FIFA debuted in 1993 and actually knocked Street Fighter 2 off the charts. It looked like this:

Who’s It For: You don’t have to love soccer to love FIFA 13. Hell, there are some people who only know the rules of soccer BECAUSE of the FIFA video game series. If you love sports games, online play, fierce competition and shit-talking on an international level, there is no substitute for FIFA.
