Gears of War

If you go to the game store next week hoping to score a PS3 and get turned away, pick up this badass little fucker of a game instead. Scientific studies have shown that the simple act of inserting Gears of War into your 360 automatically makes you 8 percent cooler. It's true! Look it up! And Gears, quite frankly, is infinitely better than anything the PS3 has to offer at this point. The game stars ex-con Marcus Fenix, a 'roided-up bad ass who wields plenty of hardware, including a chain saw, and he's not afraid to use it. The duck-and-cover gameplay mechanics bring some strategy to bear on the proceedings, but overall this game is about getting up-close and personal with alien scum, grabbing them by their alien lapels, then showing them their alien intestines before they die.
