Halo: Combat Evolved

Halo was the first game that gave us a reason to smash our piggy bank, go buy an Xbox, and devolve into a lump of bleary-eyed, couch-bound flesh. (That’s a good thing.) Now the PC edition of the game features all of the same first-person, shoot-shit-up missions. Just like the Xbox version, you’ll blast members of the Covenant alien collective into blobs of pesto sauce as space marine Master Chief. Just like the Xbox version, you get your hands on grenades, sniper rifles, and assorted fantastical killing hardware. Just like the Xbox version, you’ll dig in for protracted multiplayer battles, including flying and off-road driving. It’s all so much like the Xbox version, in fact, that you might wonder why the hell you spent money on it a second time.
