Putting the ball through the hoop is the ultimate goal, but since this is a Mario game, how you get there, how much coinage you've collected, and how many turtle shells you ping your opponents with enroute is the key to being king of these portable courts. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a chronic case of T.M.T., aka Too Much Touching (a condition we've been suffering from since we were 12). Most of the game's touch-screen action feels extraneous to the point of being downright annoying. And trying to hold the DS and work the face buttons, shoulder buttons, and stylus reminded us of our one pathetic attempt at a threesome: With all these needs to satisfy, what should be fun feels like a chore.
