Metal Slug 3

In these times of billion-polygon, photo-realistic graphics, it's refreshing to find a game with characters that look as quaintly crappy as those in Metal Slug 3. Now you can hark back to a time when you wasted quarters in an arcade playing a very similar version of this side-scrolling, 2-D shooter. The same rules still apply: Pick one of five characters and rapidly smash the "fire" button against a frantic onslaught of bile-spewing zombies, soldiers, and mutant bugs. As you defeat enemies and rescue POWs, unlock new weapons and vehicles, such as the Slug Copter and Tank Slug. The wacky sensibility will give you a few chuckles, while the insane difficulty level takes you on a masochistic tour of your squandered youth.
