The first rule of Midnight Club is…drive faster. You play as a cabbie who must earn the respect of Emilio Sanchez, a famous outlaw street racer—and your ticket to competing against an international network of DMV rejects. Making full use of the PlayStation 2’s pedal-to-the-metal graphics and Cadillac-size memory, this is the first racing game to feature two entire, realistically detailed cities—Manhattan and London. As if that’s not enough to make the Dreamcast’s popular Crazy Taxi seem like a go-kart course, you’ll flee from an army of cops in more than 40 stolen vehicles—including an NYPD cruiser and a double-decker bus. And should you happen to plow through a few dozen pedestrians in the process, that’s their problem.
