NASCAR 06: Total Team Control

Whether it's the dangerous six-car pileups, the endless six packs of beer, or the six major networks that seem to broadcast its races at any given time, NASCAR has reached levels of popularity previously reserved for the NFL. Likewise, Electronic Arts is keying on the sport's blocking, defensive strategy, and teamwork with NASCAR 06—the closest to Madden car racing can get. Following the EA formula, 06 is both realistic enough for the president of the Jeff Gordon Fan Club, and simple enough to hook a casual Sunday driver. The controls stress team play by letting you swap between teammates mid-race, while barking orders into your headset means fellow drivers either help block opponents' cars or get the hell out of the way. There's also tons of drivers, cars, and corporate sponsors to choose from as you compete in online races. The only thing left for complete authenticity is up to you—unfortunately, NASCAR 07 will probably be out by the time your mullet reaches its full potential.
