The Good: If you've played one basketball game, you've played them all. That is, until you play NBA 2K10. Sure, there are the requisite upgrades in player renders and animations, but the new My Player mode is addiction you can't buy at your local street corner, even if it's a ripoff of the career progression system from Electronic Arts' NHL 10 series. The Bad: All is well until you get drafted into the NBA or get assigned to a D-League team. You'll start playing in sold-out arenas (yes, even while with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers) and the crowds get so rowdy, they'll make your console skip a massive amount of frames. We're sure there is a ptch in the works to fix things, but, until then, we hope you enjoy playing virtual basketball presented as a slideshow.

Buy, Rent, or Disembowel? A superb game that ultimately deserves a buy (even for NBA 2K9 owners) once the technical difficulties are taken care of.
