All I want to do is have my frosty, overpriced stadium beer and drink it, too, but when it comes to college football gaming, it seems as though no one can give me exactly what I want. EA Sports has been the perennial national champ of amateur pigskin, but 989 manages to put its own spin move on the concept with features EA doesnt have. Unfortunately, neither game knocks my dick in the dirt. However, if youre into fat, bloated windbags, the play-by-play commentary of welcome-worn broadcasting legend Keith Jackson is good for an occasional chortle, and brings realism to the game. Also included are advanced playing functions beyond comprehension for those with brains version 2.0 or better, and a gaggle of great teams of the past (for you Notre Dame fans who remember a time when championships came every decade or less). Combine this with the fight songs, real bowl games and the improved look and feel of EA and youve got a game I would be proud to rest my balls on.
