Talk about a game that sells itself. Grab a gamer off the street (but make sure to wash your hands immediately after), say the words, “Resident Evil for PlayStation 2,” and watch his acne-framed eyes light up. Resident Evil—for those who don’t know—is like Night of the Living Dead if the people in the farmhouse were armed to the teeth. After several versions kicked the crap out of gamers and competitors alike on the PlayStation, it’s back and all dolled-up for the PS2. The gore is gorier, the booms are boomier, and the guns are gunnier—Resident Evil: Code Veronica X takes an already near-flawless game and makes it even better. As an added bonus, some Resident Evil games come packaged with a playable demo of the upcoming Devil May Cry—which, despite its Engrish name, looks to be a kickass title.
