Pity the poor NYC cabby: He’s got to navigate traffic jams, handle unruly passengers, and master foreign languages (like English). You’ve got it much easier in Crazy Taxi 2, which green-lights every driver’s sadistic fantasy by letting you tear it up through the Big Apple’s streets and sidewalks—pedestrians be damned. After choosing one of four drivers, it’s time for you to haul asphalt through a cartoonish rendering of the City That Never Brakes, collecting passengers and racking up tips along the way. If CT2 isn’t a significant tune-up of the original, it at least retains the best qualities of its predecessor, including smooth controls and a rockin’ Offspring soundtrack, while throwing in some new moves, like, y’know, the ability to jump over other cars. Hey, all’s fare in love and war.
