Fans of this classic hand-to-hand fighting game have long awaited its evolution to the realm of 3-D graphics. Their wish has come true—and how. Hell, when masked troubadour Vega tosses opponents toward your screen, you may feel compelled to inspect it for cracks. More than 20 other fighters have also made the leap forward. Unfortunately, the controls are still choppy compared with Dreamcast blockbuster Soul Calibur, which defeats the purpose of splurging on a new PlayStation 2. Still, if you’re a Street Fighter die-hard, the eye-popping animation, unique game options, and create-a-fighter feature make this a worthwhile purchase. At least it will have a longer shelf life than the stink-bomb Van Damme movie.
