Dont bother packing the parasol for this day at the beach. Sunburn is the least of your worries as a lone turret gunner trying to separate invading GIs from their limbs before they ventilate your Normandy beach bunker. OK, so Beach Head doesnt specifically depict German versus American actionyour enemy wears a circle insignia; your side is represented by the mighty triangle. (Battle of the Teletubbies?) But the sight of WWII-era tanks, planes, and personnel carriers storming the coast screams D-Day. Your howitzers, machine guns, and missile launchers have limited ammo, so stemming the invasion tide isnt a complete blood-in-the-surf turkey shoot. Too bad repetitive action, mediocre graphics, and a limited krauts-eye-view perspective make slaying Private Ryan and company as predictable as an episode of Hogans Heroes.
