You learned from Night of the Living Dead that no matter how many zombies you put back in the grave, there are always more craving your brain. That’s a good thing in this case, as Resident Evil’s undead-blasting concept gets better with every installment. In Code Veronica, you control the underdressed Claire Redmond as she scurries around a tropical island, collecting clues and pulverizing zombies into carrion compost with a machine gun, flamethrower, and other heavy artillery. Besides the detailed ultragore and eerie sound effects, CV features two-fisted gun handling that allows you to decimate separate targets simultaneously. That’ll teach those zombies not to mingle with the living.
