Continuing its proud tradition of people beating the hell out of each other, the latest installment in the Virtua Fighter series takes full advantage of the power of the PS2. While the environments are exquisitely rendered—water splashes, leaves fall, pile-driven heads smash tile—the real star of the show is the AI, which can analyze your fighting technique and spot weaknesses faster than an angry girlfriend. Two newcomers join eleven veteran characters, each with unique and customizable fighting styles. Make enough progress, and you’ll unlock new hairstyles and clothing accessories for your characters. Now put down that friggin’ Barbie!
