Sometimes, a remake is better than a sequel. Rather than tack some B-horror movie title like Resident Evil 14: Evil Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, Capcom has gone back to basics and reinvented the franchise for the ’Cube. With better effects (the lighting and environments are better than some movies—like, say, the Resident Evil movie) and slicker motion-capture animation, the new, improved Resident Evil regains the throne as horror-action video game king. Hell, this one’s even scarier than most horror movies (like, say, the Resident Evil movie). Fans will rejoice at the new areas and new attack/defend abilities, while those who have yet to play this are stripped of any more excuses. If you are a ’Cuber, this is a must-own.
