The best parts of SportsCenter’s racing coverage are the crash highlights, and that simple fact hasn’t escaped the attention of Downforce’s designers; They’ve ditched realistic racing for a straight-forward adrenaline rush where amazing vehicular explosions are your reward spectacularly bad driving. That’s reason enough to enjoy this, but the game’s addicting “Tricks” mode really steals the show. With this feature, you can score big points for big air (sort of like Tony Hawk, but with Goodyears). Even more points are tacked on if you top off your moves with a fiery exclamation point. Too bad Kelsey Grammer isn’t a playable character—his automotive hijinks would earn big-time points, here.
