Metal Gear Solid: Substance

For those of you who don’t flinch when you’re hosed by paying big bucks for a few token extras on “Special Edition” DVDs, Metal Gear Solid: Substance is the game for you. Despite coming out a year after the original masterpiece, this action-adventure looks and plays identically to the PlayStation 2 version. The only “improvements” consist of a slew of extra outfits, yawn-inducing training missions, and a handful of bonuses that only the most avid Gear geek could appreciate. If that’s you, fine. But couldn’t they have added something cool for the rest of us, like maybe some mullet-trimming tips from hero Snake himself?
