Why risk sunburn, bleacher splinters, and watery beer when you can bask in the glow of your Xbox this baseball season? Inside Pitch 2003 takes the idea of in-game realism to the next level, supplying gamers with full MLB rosters custom-designed right down to each player’s cup-adjustment routine (lacking only Press Conference mode, where players can confess drug problems, explain arrests, or demand more money). The game’s simple batting and fielding controls make it easy on novices, while the in-depth pitching options give purists something to chew on as they cycle through a loaded arsenal of head-spinning tosses. You can even go online against fellow pale and lonely stats dorks. Hell, fresh air’s really overrated anyway.
