Let’s face it; unless watching stock cars plastered with corporate logos circumnavigating never-ending oval patterns gets you all goose-pimply, the only reason to watch NASCAR is for the deadly pileups. Fortunately, the makers of NASCAR Thunder 2004 kept that in mind when they designed a game with fast, easy-handling cars that you can take online and use to turn rival rides into steaming chunks of modern sculpture. Fanatics will tweak tire pressure, suspension, and build dynasties, alliances, and sponsorships; rookies can learn the nuances of drafting, passing, and holding position on dozens of real-world tracks. There are even fantasy courses where you can (gasp!) make a right turn!
