“Team Alpha, what’s your 20? We need covering fire, over!” You’re deep in the lush jungles of Columbia as a member of a crack squad of soldiers, the Ghosts. OK, you’re really on the sofa nursing a bag of cheese doodles and talking into a drive-through headset, because you sure as hell wouldn’t risk your ass taking out a seditious cocaine cartel or a hostile, post-Castro Cuban warlord like you do in this tactical first-person shooter. Sure, Clancy’s stamped his name on a dozen or so titles, and this one recycles levels from the Island Thunder and Desert Siege, but the game play has been streamlined for less fussy PS2 players. Plus there’s a single-player mode, where AI teammates respond to 160 voice commands. And the online levels—with multiple players barking through headsets simultaneously—is enough to make you postpone your pee break for hours.
