If the nightmare of getting ventilated with a shank or wearing a chastity belt in the shower isn’t enough to keep you obeying the law, give this horror game set in the slammer a spin. You play as death-row inmate Torque, trying to stay alive against an onslaught of nightmarish creatures, such as an obese mutant who unleashes rats from his open belly. Switching between first- and third-person views, you’ll splatter foes with an assortment of firearms, or enter “rage mode,” where you’ll morph into an extra-destructive beast. Told in fragments along the way, the story resolves differently, depending on whether you torture and kill other humans or help them survive. Either way, the eerie atmosphere will scare you straighter than an Oz box set.
