Is your two-car garage not doing it for you anymore? Say hello to Sony’s virtual stable of over 700 cars spanning time and space, and say goodbye to other activities, like bathing. The PlayStation’s flagship racing game is back after a hiatus of nearly four years, and the wait was worth it: over 50 tracks spanning courses real and imagined await you and your collection of highly-tuned metal ponies. Now we can finally achieve our dream of racing Times Square in a turn-of-the-century steam engine, or zipping around the Grand Canyon in an NSX. Alas, there are a few negatives: you can’t plow off cliff edges, cars don’t take damage, and you can forget about online play. But screw that: you’re not going to get a more realistic driving experience without nicking the keys to dad’s Delorean. Is GT4 more fetish than game? Probably. But if this is a fetish, then put a leather hood on us and whip us till we bleed!
