Has New York City's transformation into a modern-day Disneyland of crappy coffee shops and Gap stores ruined your faith in the seediness of urban life? Hop in Rockstar's time machine and visit the 1979 Big Apple in their spot-on video game adaptation of Walter Hill's gang warfare cult classic. From the opening sequence to the synth-popping soundtrack, there's more style in five minutes of this modern-day Double Dragon than five stacks of Street Fighter compilations. For those who remember the original movie, the game skips back three months to tell the tale of Rembrandt's efforts to join The Warriors. Each region of New York has real landmarks, its own resident gang, and plenty of fun side games, like muggings and car radio thefts. Co-op mode lets a friend join in on the bumfights and anti-police brutality, too, in case you're lonely. Best of all, the controls and plot mush together like a delicious peanut-butter-and-banana sandwich.
