We really, really love baseball video games. But between our hectic masturbation schedule and our nights spent reading romance novels to blind people (we give until it hurts, folks), we no longer have the 500 to 600 spare hours to invest in a Franchise mode anymore. That's where The Bigs comes in. Made by 2K Sports, the same folks who put Derek "I'm a Smug Bastard" Jeter's face on their box cover three years running, The Bigs is a lighter, Giambi-juiced take on traditional baseball. Games are a quick-and-dirty five innings long. Game play is focused squarely on holy-cow-style plays. Tired of worrying about nitpicky bullshit like the fatigue level of your starting pitcher, or making sure the middle reliever is properly warmed up? The Bigs is all about hitting homers, making shoestring catches, then enjoying a "was it good for you, too?" cigarette afterward.
